J-K terror funding: NIA seizes LeT letterhead, Rs 1.5 cr cash in raids

New Delhi, June 3: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has raided 23 places in Kashmir and Delhi over terror funding to separatists. The raids are being conducted on the basis of the information that the N IA has received during its probe against the Kashmir Separatists. During the raids Rs 1.5 crore in cash was also seized.

Raids are being conducted to check for documents and cash that may be stashed to fund the unrest in the Valley. It was revealed that several outlets in Delhi and Kashmir coordinated with each other to bring in the money from Pakistan in a bid to fund the unrest.

During the raids incriminating documents including letter heads were seized. Letter heads of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Hizbul Mujahideen apart from laptops were seized.

Raids were conducted at the residences of Naeem Khan and Raja Kalwal, Separatist leaders in Kashmir. NIA sources say that the locations in Delhi that were raided belonged to hawala operatives who helped transfer the money.

NIA officials say that they are working on further leads. There is plenty of documentation in this regard which needs to be ascertain. Some arrests too are likely soon, NIA officials also confirmed.
